The software needs a desperate upgrade, otherwise, you are good to go. The S20 Ultra has one of the best displays around, the best processor that they currently produce, and all the camera features you could hope for with an extremely high megapixel count to boot.
Even binned down to 12MP, it relies on the slightly older phase detection autofocus method when compared to the sensor is the S20 and S20 Plus, which use dual-pixel autofocus. The Hz screen remains incredible no matter the battery life impact, and the cameras are still plenty good, even if not class-leading. The users in Snapdragon markets in particular end up with a device that makes very few compromises and is seemingly worthy of being a top class flagship.
I just hope that Samsung will be able to resolve the camera discrepancies between the different models, as well as generally improve the camera picture quality over the coming months.

If they achieve this, then I feel that the new phones would warrant their release price tags. Volume is good, artifacts are well controlled, dynamics are generally respected, and timbre performance is good, whether in playback or recording. Both phones have different form factors and different target audiences. While the Galaxy S20 Ultra is all about the cameras and performance, the Galaxy Z Flip is about the folding screen and looks.
